Early Career and Rapid Progression
Since 1996, I have been appointed as Rental Agent at Wierda Property Services
Rental Department. During my time at Realty 1 Elk, which later became Chas Everitt in 2002, I served as Letting Manager and Consultant. Starting from scratch, I successfully built up the portfolio to include over 130 healthy, running rental contracts.
Key Achievements at Chas Everitt
One of my proudest moments was when Boland Bank approached me to take over and complete several unfinished Sectional Title complexes. I managed not only to finish and let them for long-term rentals but also sold a few units to my tenants, demonstrating my versatility and dedication to client satisfaction.
In 2002, I received an award for the most consistent input and the highest monthly income within the company. My portfolio was recognised by Chas Everitt
Representatives as being larger than that of Tilla Everitt, the wife of our chairman,
which was a significant compliment and testament to my hard work.
Leadership at Wierda Property Services
In November 2003, I was offered the position of Rental Manager at Wierda Property Services, becoming the youngest manager in the company at the age of 34. Within just 20 months, my team and I managed to double our portfolio to over 450 contracts. This achievement led to our department being named The Strongest Letting Department in Centurion.
Relocation and Continued Success
In 2005, I relocated to Mossel Bay to support my husband with his business for a
period. I then resumed my career in rentals full time in 2011 at Gleniqua Properties, where I maintained a healthy and robust rental book for six years. This period of growth and stability culminated in my being offered a position at Property Monopoly in 2016.
Recognition at Property Monopoly
Since joining Property Monopoly in 2016/2017, I have consistently been awarded the annual Rental Portfolio awards, reflecting the steady growth of my portfolio each year. I am extremely proud of this continued progress and recognition.
In 2022/2023, I received the award for achieving the highest rental market share in the Garden Route region, with the highest rental average across the area. Looking ahead, February 2026 will mark my tenth anniversary at Property Monopoly—an achievement that I regard as the best career move I have ever made.
